Tannery Construction Update - April/May 2026
With demolition now complete, works have progressed into the restoration of the heritage building, where timber works are underway to enable the careful removal of the existing roof—an important step in preserving its character.
A key milestone was achieved last month with the installation of the tower crane, marking a clear shift into the next phase of construction.
Piling works are now complete, which involved installing deep concrete columns into the ground to form a strong and stable foundation that will support the building above. The project has since moved into the substructure phase, including pile caps, ground beams and in-ground services, preparing the site for the ground floor slabs.
In the below video, Carly Cottam from Motiv and McNab Site Manager Jason share further insight into construction progress and what lies ahead.
